On Wednesday, 13 May, the Lord Mayor announced the formation of a fundraising committee dedicated to raising funds for the restoration of City Hall. The committee has been named the City Hall Heritage Conservation Appeal Committee.
City Hall was built during the 1920s and is a busy venue offering world class facilities for the public through community activities, concerts, conferences and citizenship ceremonies. It is also home to the Museum of Brisbane.
In 2010 City Hall will close temporarily for three years while critical structural, fire, electrical and heritage work is undertaken.

Attend a Council meeting
You are welcome to attend all Brisbane City Council ordinary meetings and most Standing Committee meetings held at Brisbane City Hall. Ordinary Brisbane City Council meetings are held in Council Chambers in City Hall on Tuesdays at 2pm, except during recess periods. When attending meetings, visitors are bound by the Rules of Procedure.
