10,000 steps themed walks

These monthly themed walks are a great way for residents to enjoy Brisbane’s great outdoors and discover new regions of their city through walking. The walks are part of the Connecting Brisbane program.

Connecting Brisbane walking trails

The Connecting Brisbane walking trails are part of the Q150 Link leaves Council's website and Brisbane 150 celebrations. The walks are part of the Connecting Brisbane program.

Every step counts

Once you’ve made the decision to start your active and healthy lifestyle:Family walking with their dog

  • get a pedometer – you can borrow one from your local library 
  • register on the 10,000 Steps website Link leaves Council's website or pick up a step log and keep track of your steps
  • make walking a part of your everyday lifestyle -

  • take the stairs instead of the elevator
  • get off the train or bus one stop early and walk the rest of the way
  • take the family for a walk to the shops
  • if you're looking for a walking group to join, Council's Gonewalking program, which is run by the Heart Foundation, offers a range of free walks for you to choose from
