Waste vouchers
Each year, ratepayers receive 10 waste vouchers:
- five vouchers for general waste: each entitles you to dispose of up to 100 kilograms of general waste for free at any Council transfer station
- five vouchers for uncontaminated green waste: each entitles you to dispose of up to 100 kilograms of uncontaminated green waste for free at any Council transfer station
You'll receive the vouchers with your July quarterly rates notices.
The vouchers for 2009/10 are valid from 1 August 2009 to 31 July 2010.
You can:
- use a maximum of 10 vouchers in an individual load
- only use general waste vouchers for general waste
- use general waste vouchers and green waste vouchers for uncontaminated green waste
If your general waste load weighs more than the amount that your vouchers cover, from 1 July 2009, you'll be charged at a rate of:
- $8.85 for each extra 100 kilograms or part thereof up to 500 kilograms, plus
- the pro-rata per tonne rate for the remainder above 500 kilograms
If your uncontaminated green waste load exceeds your vouchers, there's a charge of:
- $6.80 for each extra 100 kilograms or part thereof up to 500 kilograms, plus
- the pro-rata tonne rate for the remainder above 500 kilograms
Uncontaminated green waste includes branches, leaves and grass clippings but not pots, pavers, sleepers and soil.
