	ENVIRONMENT & WASTE VIEWING: HOME / ENVIRONMENT & WASTE / WATER Water Queensland Urban Utilities New water and wastewater business, Queensland Urban Utilities is being launched as a result of the state government's restructure of the water industry. Brisbane, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset councils are working together to form the new business. Water management Council is managing the drought through strategies which include stormwater harvesting, pressure and leakage management and purified recycled water, find out more. Water quality and treatment Water quality, water treatment, recycled water and drinking water will be the responsibility of Queensland Urban Utilities from November 2009. Water design and connection From November 2009, Queensland Urban Utilities will be responsible for water design and connection.
