Rates

Rates statements

Owners of properties within Brisbane City Council area receive four rates bills each year.

Rates statements are issued in January, April, July and October.

Change of details

Change your details on your rates accounts for Brisbane residents and companies. This includes change of name, address, ownership transfer fee policy and exemptions

How rates are calculated

How your rates are calculated including information about rating categories and each of the rate charges, averaging and your land valuations.

Community Title Scheme

Information on the parity factor applied to Community Title Scheme (CTS) properties. The parity factor is used to apply a loading to the general rates.

Rates payment

Find payment options for your rates account, this includes how to pay Council rates at Customer Service Centres and Australia Post Offices or by mail, BPAY, Rates Assist, online or phone pay.

Discounts and remissions

Discounts and remissions are offered on your rates account. This includes pensioner discounts, owner-occupied and bushland preservation remissions, general rate exemption and the discount for paying before the due date.
