Driveway permits
If you are going to build, repair or modify a driveway you must have a driveway permit to cross the footway.
Before Brisbane City Council issues a permit, your proposal must be assessed against the relevant requirements and guidelines. Some of the key rules indicate the driveway must be:
- a solid, non-slip material such as concrete, asphalt or pavers. Materials such as tiles, gravel and blue stones are not permitted
- the same level as the footpath
- within permitted gradients
- clear of stormwater pits
- clear of street trees
- constructed in accordance with Council’s technical standards
