Planning and building rules

Brisbane city buildings and riverBrisbane City Council incorporates the state government requirements with Council’s own rules and assessment criteria to manage growth and change in Brisbane.  These rules are set out in Council’s City Plan

The rules also reflect the community’s expectation for future development. 

Heritage

Information about heritage, including the heritage places listed on the City Plan Heritage Register.

Contributions and levies

The Infrastructure Contributions Planning Scheme Policies show the infrastructure needs required to service existing and future development.  They also set contributions for water, sewerage, waterways, community purpose and transport infrastructure to service new development in the city.

Subdivision and development guidelines

Applicants should use these guidelines to make sure a development proposal complies with City Plan Codes.
