King George Square
King George Square was developed as Brisbane's premier civic space in the 1970's. In May 2006 Brisbane City Council commenced major capital works to revitalise King George Square in conjunction with construction of the Inner Northern Busway. The redevelopment works have created a space that reflects the historic values of the Square, as well as its evolving role as a destination, transit hub and ceremonial and civic heart of the city.
