Planning initiatives

Council is working hard to plan for Brisbane's future, preserving the environment we live in while managing the city's growth.

South East Queensland Regional Plan 2009 - 2031 Link leaves Council's website

Council is working with the Queensland State Government, to manage growth and change in the most sustainable way and to protect and enhance the quality of life in the region.

City Plan 2000

The City Plan sets out what we and our neighbours can build, showing where new development should go. All development in Brisbane is directed by Brisbane City Plan 2000.

City Plan 2012

Over the next three years, the rules that shape Brisbane City Plan 2000 will undergo a formal review to develop Brisbane City Plan 2012. We'd like your input on the important decisions we have to consider and it's easy to participate.

Neighbourhood Planning

Neighbourhood Planning brings together representatives from Council and local communities. It gives everyone who lives, works or owns property in Brisbane an opportunity to have a say in how the city will grow.

Urban Renewal Brisbane

Urban Renewal Brisbane works with local communities, businesses and other government agencies to plan for and create vibrant living and working environments.
