Brookfield cemetery
Brookfield Cemetery opened across from the Brookfield showgrounds in 1882.
It is the burial place of many of the area's establishing families and Chinese gold-miners from the late 1800s. Community groups are working with Brisbane City Council to maintain and advance the cemetery's condition.
There are new burial sites and ash memorial areas available at Brookfield. Families with loved ones buried in the cemetery can always bury ashes within existing graves.
Available burial sites are:
- monumental burial sites
- lawn beam burial sites
- interments within existing family graves
Available ash memorials are:
- memorial walls
- memorial gardens
- interment of ashes in family graves
