- make sure your resume reflects your skills, qualifications and experience. This will help us match you to other vacancies
- update your existing applicant login
Recruitment process
Council's Recruitment Centre wants to:
- attract the right people
- make sure you are given enough information to decide whether the role and Council is for you
The recruitment process will vary depending on the role. The stages include:
- Assessing your resume and cover letter
Our recruitment team will assess your resume and covering letter to determine whether you’re suitable for the role. They will look at relevant work experience, training and qualifications.
- Face-to-face interview
This interview is to determine your ability to perform the role, to get to know you, your skills and experiences and for you to get to know us.
This is a good opportunity to gather as much information as you can and to decide whether the role and Council will be right for you.
- Other candidate assessment
For some roles, you may need to participate in additional assessment exercises, including:
- work preference, skills and attribute testing
- practical work tests
- responding to scenarios or case studies
- pre-interview work (such as preparing a presentation to deliver)
- role-plays
- assessment centres (where you engage in group activities with other candidates)
At the interview stage you will receive information to help you prepare where needed.
- Reference checks
We do at least two reference checks with previous employers. We suggest you contact your referees before we do. We will contact you before doing any reference checks.
- Offer
If you are the successful candidate, we will make a verbal offer. At this stage we will discuss and agree on your commencement date and the terms and condition of your employment. |
