Brisbane City Council Evacuation Centre closed

Brisbane City Council wishes to advise the evacuation centre at Sleeman Sports Centre in Chandler has been closed as it is no longer required.

Sixteen people spent the night at the evacuation centre when it was opened last night and Council officers were onsite for assistance.

The centre was operated by Australian Red Cross with staff on hand to assist residents.

Residents are encouraged to stay with friends and family, however if temporary housing is required due to severe weather, please contact Council on 3403 8888.
