Residents urged to remain vigilant

Brisbane City Council is advising residents to remain vigilant and keep their homes and properties prepared, with higher than usual high tides expected over the coming days.

Two tide peaks – lower than the peak that occurred today - are expected at the Brisbane City Gauge at approximately 11.00am tomorrow (Wednesday 30 January) and at about 12.00 on Thursday 31 January.

If you are concerned about flooding affecting your property, ensure any valuables on basement floors and ground levels are moved to a safe location, out of the reach of water and outdoor furniture is secured.

Full and partial road closures are currently in place across the city due to debris, flood waters and fallen power lines and motorists are advised not to drive through floodwaters or ignore road closure signs.
