Residents encouraged to register for volunteer assistance

Brisbane City Council has advised residents affected by the severe weather who require assistance in their clean-up efforts or could benefit from volunteer help, to register their details through a special Council hotline, 1300 427 472.

While a volunteer event similar to the Mud Army of 2011 will not be held, a localised response will be coordinated for those who require assistance with the clean-up of their properties.

Council will work closely with Volunteering Queensland to match residents requiring help with appropriate volunteers.

Residents wishing to volunteer their assistance should register with Volunteering Queensland or 1800 994 100.
