Higher than predicted tides expected

Higher than predicted high tides may be experienced in foreshore (low-lying areas near the coast) and riverside locations on Saturday, 6 April 2024 to Thursday, 11 April 2024.

The Queensland Tide tables provided by the Maritime Safety Queensland advise:

  • A predicted tide peak of 2.53 metres (1.28 m AHD) is expected at the Brisbane Bar at approximately 07:33am on Saturday 06 April.
  • A predicted tide peak of 2.57 metres (1.32 m AHD) is expected at the Brisbane Bar at approximately 08:21am on Sunday 07 April.

  • A predicted tide peak of 2.57 metres (1.32 m AHD) is expected at the Brisbane Bar at approximately 11:47pm on Thursday 11 April.

Please note that due to current meteorological conditions a tidal anomaly may cause these tide peaks to be higher than predicted.

These high tides are expected to be similar to the high tides experienced in January, February and March 2024.

Minor localised flooding may be experienced in bayside, riverside, and low-lying parts of nearby suburbs. Areas connected to foreshore, and tide-affected areas of the river, creeks and other waterways may also be affected.

Residents in areas prone to localised flooding due to high tides are advised to avoid parking their cars on the street during these times.

Please note that residents in tidal flood areas who are signed up for Brisbane Severe Weather Alerts can expect to also receive creek flood alerts during higher than predicted high tides.
