The Gap Ward comprises the suburbs of parts of Alderley, Ashgrove, Bardon, Enoggera, Enoggera Reservoir, Newmarket, Paddington, Red Hill and The Gap.
Geraldine Knapp was elected to Council in 1997 and has served as the Councillor for The Gap Ward for the last 16 years.
Geraldine has been a resident of The Gap Ward for over 44 years, is married and has five children. Geraldine trained at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music as a Music Specialist and taught in secondary schools for 3 years before moving to Brisbane.
Geraldine has served on many Council Committees and was Chairman of Brisbane Lifestyle Committee from 2008 until 2012. She currently sits on the Environment, Parks and Sustainability Committee and the Neighbourhood Planning and Development Assessment Committee.
As Councillor for The Gap Ward, Geraldine regularly attends the P&C and P&F meetings at the Primary and High Schools in the Ward. She is a supporter of local fetes and as President of SOWN (Save Our Waterways Now) has a strong interest in the local environment.
Geraldine actively promotes Council events, news and activities in the Ward via a monthly Enews as well as social media and her Ward web page.
