Milton Dick is the current Councillor for Richlands Ward, Leader of the Opposition in Brisbane City Council and shadow spokesperson for Infrastructure.
Milton grew up and went to school on the south side of Brisbane. As the son of small business owners, Milton along with his brother and sister grew to appreciate what it took to run a business, balance a budget and work hard for a day's wage.
After finishing studies at the University of Queensland, Milton went on to work as an advisor in the Federal Government before working in politics at both the State and Council level.
In March 2008, Milton was elected as the Councillor of Richlands Ward.
Richlands Ward is where Milton began his working career after university and he’s now the proud patron of many local sporting, community and service clubs.
In April 2012, Milton was again honoured to be elected to serve in the Brisbane City Council. He was also elected by his colleagues to the position of Leader of the Opposition and shadow spokesperson for Infrastructure.
This builds on Milton’s four years of experience as Deputy Opposition Leader and shadow spokesperson on Council’s Neighbourhood Planning and Development Assessment Committee.
As Leader of the Opposition Milton’s focused on keeping cost of living pressures down, making sure ratepayers get value for money and that Council delivers programs and services in line with community and ratepayers expectations.
Milton lives in Durack and is a long distance runner. He participates in a number of charity fun runs each year.
