Wishart Ward
The Wishart Ward comprises the suburbs of Wishart, parts of Eight Mile Plains, Holland Park, Mansfield, Mt Gravatt, Mt Gravatt East and Upper Mt Gravatt.
Councillor Krista Adams
Krista Adams was elected as Councillor for the ward of Wishart in 2008, as part of former Lord Mayor Campbell Newman's team.
The married, former Health and Physical Education Teacher and group fitness instructor, is the daughter of popular long-serving Councillor, Gail Chiconi, who served the local area for 12 years.
Krista has spent the majority of her life in the Wishart Ward. Growing up in Mansfield, she went to St. Catherine's School, Wishart and Loreto College, Coorparoo.
She has been involved in many community events in the Ward, including City Council's suburban shopping centre improvement programs, the Mt Gravatt Show and supporting local school fetes, markets and Clean-Up Australia.
Krista is a regular attendee at Neighbourhood Watch, P&C and local community meetings.
Following the election in 2008, Krista was appointed to the following committees:
- Deputy Chairperson of the Neighbourhood Planning and Development Assessment Committee
- Infrastructure Committee
- Environment, Parks and Sustainability Committee
- Chair of the Brisbane City Council Community Gardens Committee
- Heritage Advisory Committee
- Chair of the former Lord Mayor's Taskforce into Aged Care and Retirement Living
In November 2009, Krista was appointed the Deputy Chairman of Council and on 1 July 2010 took on the role of Chairman of Council.
