The Wynnum Manly Ward comprises the suburbs of Wynnum, Wynnum West, Manly, Lota, Port of Brisbane, Lytton and 60% of Manly West.

Councillor Peter Cumming

Peter Cumming has been the Councillor for the Wynnum Manly Ward since March 1994. 

Peter has degrees in Economics and Law (with Honours) from the University of Queensland. He also completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Queensland Institute of Technology.

Before joining Council, Peter was a solicitor specialising in litigation.

Peter's achievements as Councillor for the Wynnum Manly Ward include:

• the continuing upgrade of parks in the Ward
• traffic improvements
• sewerage upgrades
• the annual Australia Day celebrations on the Esplanade near the Bandstand

Peter presently serves on Council's Field Services Committee as Opposition Spokesperson. He is married with a teenage son and a young daughter and son. Peter enjoys playing table tennis and assists with publicity for the Wynnum Table Tennis Association. He also coached junior soccer teams for eight years. Peter's other interests include economics and legal issues. He also provides practical support for several charity organisations.
