Sustainability policy and case studies
Brisbane City Council's Corporate Sustainability Policy helps to ensure that sustainability principles are integrated into Council's activities and decisions.
Sustainability
Sustainability is a principle to influence our decisions to maintain and enhance our quality of life, now and in the future. It requires an integrated consideration of economic, environmental and community factors.
Sustainability policy
The sustainability policy aims to establish a common understanding of sustainability within Council and the community.
It will help people to understand what practical steps can be taken to make sustainability a reality in their working lives.

Sustainable case studies
A collection of case studies is available, showing Council initiatives that have demonstrated sustainability in action.
Each case study shows how to apply at least some of the sustainability principles as outlined in the sustainability policy.
Many of these projects began before sustainability was a well-known concept. However, sustainability themes shared between all the case studies are those of long-term thinking and equity between generations.
