Community grants

Brisbane City Council's grants programs provide funding to help local non-profit community groups to develop and improve facilities and services in Brisbane. Grants are also given to individuals who require financial assistance to promote creativity and the arts, encourage historical, cultural and physical events and activities, take care of sick or injured native wildlife and help others in their community.

The following Council grants for community groups and non-profit organisations are currently open.

""Lord Mayor's Suburban Initiative Fund

The Lord Mayor's Suburban Initiative Fund supports community groups in recognition of the vital contribution made towards building stronger communities in Brisbane.

Open: Applications are open for all Council wards now. Applications close at midnight on Friday, 14 June 2013.

Grants currently closed

The following Council grants for community groups and non-profit organisations are currently closed.

Community Sport Club Grant Program

This grant program provides strategic funding to community-based, not-for-profit sporting clubs who plan to deliver projects that demonstrate a commitment to operating in a sustainable manner.

Partnering for Public Netball Courts Program

This program provides financial assistance to community netball clubs and Brisbane state, independent and private schools to construct new netball facilities or upgrade existing netball facilities for community use. 

Community Development and Capacity Building Grants

These grants encourage projects that respond to local and city-wide community issues with objectives including, but not limited to, increasing community identity and connections and increasing social inclusion and reducing isolation.

Healthy and Physical Activity Grants

These grants provide funding to local non-profit community groups to increase participation in community sport and recreation.

Access and Inclusion Community Partnership Program

This program provides funds to community organisations, groups or networks for projects or services that improve access and inclusion in Brisbane.

Community Support Funding Program

This program offers financial assistance to community groups facing financial hardships and providers of affordable housing.

Men's Shed Grants Program

This grants program supports Men's Shed groups in Brisbane.

Housing Support Program

This program provides funding to community organisations for projects or services that respond to the housing and social needs of homeless people, or those living in social housing.
