Men's Shed Grant

The Brisbane City Council Men's Shed Grant supports Men's Shed groups in Brisbane. This program provides a safe, supportive and friendly environment for men of all ages to gather, volunteer, work and seek fellowship with like-minded people. The grant provides funding for:

  • establishment and coordination expenses
  • facility improvements
  • equipment and material purchases

Funding can range from a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $20,000.

How to apply

The Men's Shed Grant Program runs once a year. The last round closed on Monday, 24 October 2011.

Successful applicants will be notified in late January 2012.

Acquittal reports for successful applicants

Within 12 months of grant approval notification, or within one month of project completion (whichever is sooner), you must send Council a completed acquittal form. You can download the:

You will not be eligible to apply for grants for two years if you do not submit the following:

  1. Your Statement of Income and Expenditure which must be signed by your treasurer.
  2. Copies of all related invoices and receipts, or suitable evidence to support the grant expenditure.
