Environment centres
Brisbane has two environment centres at Boondall Wetlands and Downfall Creek.
Environment centres help Brisbane City Council achieve its 2026 vision of being a clean, green city by:
- being a facility of environmental communication and learning
- creating sustainable communities through environmental programs
- engaging communities in the sustainable use of Brisbane's natural areas with activities such as canoeing, bush walks, bird watching and wildlife rescue
Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre
The Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre is in the Boondall Wetlands Reserve. Visitors can learn about the importance of wetlands to the community and the environment.
Downfall Creek Bushland Centre
Downfall Creek Bushland Centre is located at the Raven Street Reserve. People of all ages can use the centre to learn about the importance of the flora, fauna and urban bushlands in the wider environment.
Chermside Hills Reserve
The Chermside Hills Reserve is a unique natural environment with a wildlife corridor and a network of walking and cycling tracks.
