Rubbish tips
Brisbane City Council operates four transfer stations (rubbish tips) and two Brisbane Tip Shops. Use your waste vouchers to dispose of large items, green waste or extra waste at any Council transfer station, or you can use the free kerbside collection service for large item collection.
Transfer stations (rubbish tips)
Transfer stations are open from 6.30am to 5.45pm every day of the year, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Transfer stations do not accept dead animals and members of the public cannot take dead animals directly to the Brisbane Landfill site. You can report a dead animal for collection. Dead animals are scanned for a microchip at point of collection from the road or footpath. Owners will be contacted if a microchip is detected.
Locations
Vehicles with a registered gross vehicle mass (RGVM) greater than 4.5 tonnes must use the major transfer stations at Willawong and Nudgee.
