Set up bin collection day reminders

To receive bin collection day reminders you'll need to allow push notifications on your device. Go to phone settings, then app notifications and enable the app to allow notifications.

Note: if you change your address, you must set your reminders again.

Steps to set up reminders

  1. Tap on the menu button at the top left of the app (next to 'calendar').
  2. Under the 'location' heading, tap on 'address'. To add your address, search and select your suburb, street and house number.
  3. Once the address has been added, choose your reminder type: add reminder for next collection, add reminder for all collections, remove all reminders. Tap on your preferred reminder type and set your reminder time and then tap 'set reminder'.

Once a reminder has been set up, a pop up will appear at the bottom of the screen notifying you that the reminder has been added.

Steps to remove reminders

  1. Tap on the menu button at the top left of the app (next to 'calendar').
  2. Under the 'location' heading, tap on 'address'. To add your address, search and select your suburb, street and house number.
  3. Once the address has been added, choose 'remove all reminders' to remove all reminders you've previously set.

App troubleshooting

Your address isn't listed in the property search.

New properties may not be listed in the property search. New addresses are added quarterly (March, June, September and December). In the meantime, use a nearby address (preferably on the same street) to populate the calendar with collection days and special event in your area.

The bin calendar shows incorrect collection days.

Re-enter your address to refresh the calendar data. Tap on the menu button at the top left of the app (next to 'calendar') and enter your address.

If the calendar does not update with the correct information, Council may need to update the database.

I'm not receiving any notifications from the app.

Check if you have enabled push notifications on your device. Go to phone settings, then app notifications and enable the app to allow notifications.

If push notifications are enabled, check your reminder details are correct.

If you've changed your address since you set up notifications, you need to set up a new reminder for your new address.
