Council provides funding for major arts and cultural facilities like the Museum of Brisbane and Brisbane Powerhouse.

Festivals and events

Council provides funding for a broad range of festivals and events including major festivals like Brisbane Festival and Brisbane International Film Festival. Council also promotes suburban community festivals like 2High Festival, Teneriffe Festival and Lord Mayor's Christmas Carols, and multicultural festivals like Paniyiri, Italian Week, Oktoberfest and the Brisbane Chinese Cultural Festival.

Free public events

A citywide, curated program of free public events ranging from workshops, performances, cultural activities and festivals including BrisAsia Festival, Fete de la Musique Brisbane, Bands in Parks, Clem Jones City Hall Concert Series, Games Night, Lord Mayor's Seniors Cabaret Showcase, Stylin' Up, The Remix and Christmas events.

Cultural community

Council supports funding for major cultural organisations including Brisbane Eisteddfod, Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra, Brisbane Writers Festival, Queensland Choir and Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
