Moggill Road Corridor Upgrade project stage 1 - November 2023 update

What works are coming up?

We are pleased to advise construction of the new bridge is progressing well with the installation of deck units over the three bridge spans now complete.

Works on the bridge will continue with concrete pours and surface works to prepare for vehicles using the bridge early next year.

Around the site, works will also continue to relocate and replace services such as gas, water, drainage, sewer and electricity, rebuilding surrounding roads, property reinstatements and footpath construction.

When will this work take place?

Day worksWorks will be carried out Monday to Saturday from 7am to 6am.
Night worksWorks will be carried out Sunday to Thursday from 7.30pm to 5.30am.

To ensure the safety of motorists and road workers and to minimise traffic and service disruptions, some work is required to be undertaken at night when traffic volumes are lowest.

Every effort will be made to complete particularly noisy works prior to 11pm, where possible

What does this work include?

The following works will be undertaken:

  • construction of roads
  • saw cutting of the road
  • construction of service and drainage pits
  • trenching and excavation to replace/install pipes
  • relocation of existing underground services
  • intermittent lane closures.
  • Construction of concrete retaining walls.

How might this work impact me?

  • Traffic control: reduced speed limits, lane closures, changes to traffic flow and short-term traffic disruptions.
  • Noise, dust and vibration: noise and possible dust and vibration may be experienced from the construction activities.
  • Temporary lighting: lighting towers are required to be used to light work areas at night to ensure worker safety.
