DWARF PLANET

Only eight planets are now counted in the Solar System, the most distant one being Neptune.

Pluto is no longer called a planet following the International Astronomical Union's decision during August 2006, to call it a dwarf planet.

Ceres, the largest asteroid, is also now a dwarf planet, along with Eris. Eris is an object slightly larger than Pluto and more distant.
