Statement of Proposals

In 2009, Brisbane City Council released a Statement of Proposals document - How the Brisbane City Plan could change: Options for a sustainable future. This was the first step towards preparing a new plan under the Integrated Planning Act 1997 and the document outlined the scope of the new City Plan.

The Statement of Proposals was released for public comment between March and May 2009. Council received 98 submissions and residents provided an additional 504 responses on feedback forms.

In December 2009, the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 was enacted. The feedback from the Statement of Proposals has assisted in identifying key matters to be addressed in the drafting of the new City Plan.
