Bus stop accessibility upgrades
The Bus Stop Accessibility Upgrade program is part of Brisbane City Council's commitment to achieving equitable access and inclusion for everyone. The program helps to provide a public transport network that allows residents and visitors to reach their destination easily, safely and efficiently.

About the project
The Bus Stop Accessibility Upgrades program aims to ensure Brisbane bus stops meet specific requirements for public transport infrastructure set out in the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) and Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport (2002) (DSAPT).
Council is working towards reaching 100% compliance with the DDA and DSAPT ahead of the legislative requirement of 2022.
A review of Brisbane bus stops is underway to determine which stops need to be upgraded to improve accessibility. The bus stop accessibility upgrades will be prioritised accordingly.
The review is expected to be completed by December 2013.
The upgrades will ensure Brisbane’s bus stops are accessible to all and meet DDA and DSAPT requirements for public transport infrastructure.
