Bus accessibility

Brisbane City Council's low-floor buses allow easier access for all passengers.

There are 1006 low-floor buses in Council's fleet (around 85 percent of the fleet). The low floor buses have:

  • level access through the front door instead of steps
  • a ramp for wheelchair access
  • two wheelchair spaces for wheelchairs up to 1300 mm long, 800 mm wide and with a loaded weight of 300 kilograms

For more information regarding travelling with wheelchairs and mobility scooters, visit the Transport and Main Roads website.

New buses will also feature stability devices to improve the comfort of passengers in wheelchairs.

Visit the TransLink website to find services low-floor accessible buses usually operate on.

You may be able to arrange for a low-floor bus to arrive at your stop at an agreed time. Phone Council on 07 3403 8888 with 24 hours notice.
