Council has proposed the following changes to Route 138 as part of the Brisbane City Council bus network review.
Route 138 - route change
|Route description||138 (Algester to City via Gateway Mwy rocket)|
|Proposal||Route change |
The service would travel down Benhiam Street and Hamish Street, rather than Algester Road, before resuming its current route at Beaudesert Road.
|Rationale||This proposal would increase the number of people able to access public transport. There are a number of services operating through Ridgewood Road and Algester Road in Algester. However, the large residential area that has been developed nearby along Benhiam Street and Hamish Street does not currently have a service.|
|Impacts and alternatives||Residents would now receive a better public transport service, increasing overall patronage for the network and improve accessibility for Calamvale. |
Two bus stops will no longer be serviced in Algester on Formby Street and Algester Road. Passengers at these stops would have to walk to the next closest bus stop. Passengers will still be able to access the P129 (Algester to City pre-paid fare rocket), 130 (Algester to City BUZ), and 131 (Algester to City rocket), depending on where they live in the area and time they travel.
|Outcomes of consultation||Following consideration of the feedback, the proposal should be implemented as outlined. |
