Roads, infrastructure and bikeways

Brisbane City Council invests in major transport infrastructure projects, local road projects and public transport initiatives to tackle congestion in Brisbane.

The Riverwalk is one of Brisbane's key connections between New Farm and the city centre. The January 2011 floods caused a section of the Riverwalk to wash away downstream. Construction of the New Farm Riverwalk replacement is now underway and is expected to be completed by mid-2014, weather permitting. Read more about the New Farm Riverwalk replacement project.
