About the project
Blunder Road upgrade stages six and seven is almost complete, with only minor landscaping, painting of murals and reinstatement works remaining over the coming weeks.
The Blunder Road upgrade was completed in two stages (six and seven) and involved:
- a new four lane road between Wadeville Street and Crossacres Street with centre medians
- two new bridges over Blunder Creek
- provision of on road bike lanes
- new and improved street lighting
- new signalised intersection at Old Blunder Road and Blunder Road
- new signalised intersection at Wadeville Street and Stapylton Road
Traffic changes
Key changes to traffic conditions along the new Blunder Road include:
- no right-turn out of Redhead Street
- right-turn into Cloverdale Street from Blunder Road for southbound traffic
There is a u-turn facility north of Crossacres Street and a roundabout at Wadeville Street that allow for access to properties on both sides of Blunder Road.
Changes to street names and numbers
There have been a number of changes to street names and house numbers as part of the Blunder Road upgrade project. Local residents, emergency services and other authorities have been notified of these changes. The Blunder Road Upgrade Project is part of Lord Mayor Graham Quirk’s Road Action Program, which tackles congestion and improves safety on Brisbane’s 20 worst congested roads.
The Road Action Program is an unprecedented infrastructure investment that fast tracks 15 years of road works into just four years. The program delivers traffic congestion reduction, increased safety and improved access across Brisbane’s road network.
