Bridgeman and Beckett Road Corridor Upgrade project
The Bridgeman Road and Beckett Road corridor upgrade at Bridgeman Downs is part of Lord Mayor’s Graham Quirk’s Road Action Program. The program delivers traffic congestion reduction, increased safety and improved access across Brisbane’s road network.

About the project
Council is pleased to announce the completion of the Bridgeman Road and Beckett Road corridor upgrade project. The project was delivered in three stages:
- stage one – Bridgeman Road and Carseldine Road between Linkfield Road and Beams Road (completed April 2011)
- stage two – Bridgeman Road between Beams Road and Graham Road (completed on 20 December 2011)
- stage three – Beckett Road between Graham Road and Saturn Crescent/Casuarina Street (completed on 20 December 2011)
The project involved upgrading each stage to a four-lane arterial standard roadway with centre median and aims to reduce traffic congestion, improve safety and meet future demands as the area’s population continues to grow.
Stage one
Stage one involved:
- construction of a new four lane road with centre median between Linkfield Road and Beams Road
- installation of on-road bike lanes and pedestrian footpaths
- installation of traffic signals at Beams and Bridgeman Roads, Bridgeman and Roghan Roads, and Roghan and Carseldine Roads intersections
- installation of u-turn facilities on Bridgeman Road, just north of Beams Road and at Bridgeman and Roghan Road (west) intersection
Stage two
Stage two involved:
- widening the current road to four lanes with centre median between Beams Road and Graham Road
- installation of on-road bike lanes and pedestrian footpaths
- installation of u-turn facilities along Bridgeman Road (north of Graham Road and south of Beams Road)
- installation of traffic signals at the Beams Road and Graham Road intersection
Stage three
Stage three involved:
- widening the current road to four lanes with centre median strip between Graham Road and Saturn Crescent/Casuarina Street
- installation of on-road bicycle lanes and pedestrian footpaths
- installing traffic signals at the Darien Street and Beckett Road intersection
- installing u-turn facilities at Albany Creek and Beckett Roads and Beckett Road and Darien Street intersections
- upgrading the existing Albany Creek Road and Beckett Road intersection
