About the project
Brisbane City Council has completed construction on the Forest Lake Boulevard and High Street intersection at Forest Lake.
The intersection was identified as an accident black spot and the upgrade will improve safety for all road users. The upgrade was funded through the Federal Government’s Black Spot Program.
In the five years up to 2008, 13 accidents were recorded at the intersection.
The Forest Lake Boulevard and High Street black spot intersection improvement involved:
- extending the right-turn pocket on the southern approach on Forest Lake Boulevard
- controlling the right-turn signal on the southern approach of Forest Lake Boulevard
- installing a pedestrian safety fence along the median strip on Forest Lake Boulevard southern approach

This upgrade has delivered:
- improved safety for all road users and pedestrians at the intersection
- improved traffic flow on Forest Lake Boulevard
