About the project

The purpose of the study is to examine the road network within the Gumdale area so Council can plan which roads need upgrading and when upgrades should begin. The project will identify how each road should be classified and determine its role in the wider transport network, with the aim of reducing the negative impacts of traffic on the suburb of Gumdale.

The Gumdale Area Traffic study is between Old Cleveland Road in the south, Belmont Road and Dairy Swamp Road in the west, and New Cleveland Road in the north and the east.

The study included:

  • examining the nature and extent of any traffic issues
  • assessing whether there are any major road network shortfalls
  • examining whether there are any local street or major road upgrades that may be required
  • identifying other measures to improve safety, access and amenity for residents

Community consultation

The community was invited to provide input into the study in mid 2010. Council would like to thank the community for the feedback provided.
