Sports and recreation programs

Good health is the cornerstone to enjoying life in Brisbane. Council supports a range of recreation programs that help residents lead healthy and active lifestyles including Active Parks, Chill Out, GOLD (Growing Older and Living Dangerously), GOLD 'n' Kids, Gonewalking, Visible Ink and Black Diamonds. 

Make sure you can enjoy the perfect Brisbane day by remembering to: slip on comfortable protective clothing suitable for your activity, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, wrap on sunglasses, bring a water bottle, wear suitable footwear and bring any equipment listed for your activity.

Would you like to get fitter or stronger and have some fun? Council's recreation programs include all sorts of activities for fitness and strength all for free or at a low cost.

Active Parks

Find free or low-cost activities for all ages in a park near you.

Growing Older & Living Dangerously

The GOLD program provides activities for people of all fitness levels aged 50 years and over.

GOLD n' kids

Find fun activities for residents 50 plus and children five or older to enjoy together.

Chill Out

Chill Out offers exciting activities for young people between the ages of 10 and 17 years. The programs are held around Brisbane most school holidays and offer a range of sporting, cultural and art activities.

Black Diamonds

Council's Black Diamonds program is designed for young Murri and Islander people. Activities include sport and recreation, arts and culture and more.
