How do I apply to receive my bill by e-mail?

The application procedure for receiving the bill by e-mail is simple. You can find out how to apply by e-mailing your bill

Will I still receive paper bills?

If you register to receive the bill by e-mail, you will no longer receive quarterly paper bills.

It is important to keep your current postal address updated on the city council, as additional notice of your billing account (eg notice notification and bill of exchange remittance) will be sent by postal mail.

What if I can not open the bill attached to my email?

If you can not open the attached PDF bill, you must update to the latest Adobe Reader or Acrobat version.

Do I still need to update my mailing address?

Yes. When the city council receives a 'Failed to send' message on the notice sent to your email address, we will send you a paper bill at your mailing address. It is therefore important that you continue to update your mailing address with the City Council. To renew your mailing address , please use the Mailing Address Change Request Form (in English).

Can I reply to an email with a bill attached?

Because the email with the bill is an email to us, we can not open or read it, even if you reply to it.

How can I change my email address or phone number?

To change your email address or change your mobile phone number to receive SMS notifications, fill out the online application form (in English).

How do I unsubscribe from my billing email?

If you would like to unsubscribe at any time, please fill out the online application (in English).

Depending on the billing cycle, you may receive one more email bill before you change to paper receipt.

If you have any questions about the billing cycle, please call City Council 07 3403 8888. If you need translation and interpretation services, please call the Interpretation and Translation Service (TIS) 13 14 50 and ask for a call to Brisbane City Council, (07) 3403 8888.

What if I have more than one property owner?

Only one email will be sent to the email address of the specified owner.

If the owner of the property has more than one owner and more than one owner has applied for receipt of the bill, the city council will contact the owners who have applied for registration and ask which owner will receive the bill by e-mail.  

It is your responsibility to notify all individuals who receive a paper bill for your property at this time that you are no longer receiving paper bills as a result of submitting your billing email. The City Council is not responsible for these notices.
