Changed traffic conditions on Victoria Bridge, Brisbane City

Resurfacing works are commencing on the Victoria Bridge footpaths as part of the Brisbane Metro project, weather permitting.

To facilitate these resurfacing works, temporary pedestrian and active transport changes are required until early 2025:

  • From 7pm Sunday 1 December, the northern footpath on Victoria Bridge will close for up to three weeks.
    • Detours will be available via the southern footpath on Victoria Bridge.
    • This can be accessed on the South Brisbane side, via the Melbourne Street and Grey Street footpaths, and on the CBD side at North Quay, via the Queen Street and William Street footpaths.
  • Following the reopening of the northern footpath, the southern footpath will close for up to three weeks.
    • The directly adjacent CityLink Cycleway will be open as an alternative.
  • Works will also require closure of the spiral ramp between the Clem Jones Promenade and Victoria Bridge northern footpath intermittently until early 2025, with dates for closure dependent on progression of works.
  • The CityLink Cycleway will fully reopen in early 2025.

Timing will be dependent on completion of works prior.

Traffic management and wayfinding signage will be in place during these temporary closures.
