Hazard reduction burn

Brisbane City Council wishes to advise of the following hazard reduction burn scheduled to take place at Karawatha Forest on Sunday 24 June.

The burn area is approximately 16 hectares in size and is located in bushland between Acacia Road picnic area and neighbouring properties.

This burn will commence at approximately 9am and is expected to continue until the evening.

Suburbs which may be affected include Kuraby, Stretton, and Karawatha. Smoke may also be visible from Compton Road and surrounding streets.

Public access to tracks in the reserve around the burn area may be closed for up to two weeks after the burn.
