Temporary traffic changes across Brisbane

Brisbane City Council wishes to advise of the following widespread traffic changes across the CBD and surrounding suburbs on Sunday 19 May due to the Great Brisbane Bike Ride event.


The following road closures will be in place:

  • 2-9am – Riverside Drive, South Brisbane, from Jane Street northbound to end of street
  • 5.30-9am – Kingsford Smith Drive, Hamilton, between Cooksley Street and the Inner City Bypass
  • 5.30-9.15am – Cricket Street, Brisbane, between Menzies Street and Hale Street
  • 5.30-9.15am – Hale Street, Brisbane, on ramp from Kelvin Grove Road southbound
  • 5.30-9.15am – Hale Street, Brisbane, on ramp from Musgrave Road southbound
  • 5.30-9.15am – Hale Street, Brisbane, between the Inner City Bypass and Caxton Street
  • 5.30-9.15am – Inner City Bypass westbound, between Kingsford Smith Drive and Hale Street
  • 5.30-9.15am – Inner City Bypass westbound, on ramp from Abbotsford Road
  • 5.30-9.15am – Inner City Bypass westbound, on ramp from Clem 7 northbound
  • 5.30-9.15am – Inner City Bypass westbound, on ramp to Clem 7 southbound
  • 5.30-9.15am – Inner City Bypass westbound, on ramp from Lutwyche Road southbound
  • 5.30-9.15am – Inner City Bypass westbound, on ramp from Bowen Bridge Road northbound
  • 5.30-9.15am – Legacy Way westbound, entrance from the Inner City Bypass
  • 6-9.30am – Ada Street, Mt Coot-tha, between Mt Coot-tha Road and Richer Street
  • 6-9.30am – Mt Coot-tha Road, between Sir Samuel Griffith Drive and Western Freeway
  • 6-9.30am – Richer Street, Mt Coot-tha, between Mt Coot-tha Road and Birdwood Terrace
  • 6-9.30am – Scenic Drive, Mt Coot-tha, between Sir Samuel Griffith Drive and Mt Coot-tha Road
  • 6-9.30am – Sir Samuel Griffith Drive, Mt Coot-tha, except between Simpsons Road and Birdwood Terrace
  • 7-10.15am – Little Cribb Street, Milton, between Milton Rd and Boomerang Street.

The following roads will have lane closures and hold and release closures:

  • 5.30-9am – Breakfast Creek Road, Albion, at Amy Street
  • 5.30-9am – Cooksley Street, Hamilton, at Yulestar Street
  • 5.30-9am – Fison Avenue West, Eagle Farm, at Kingsford Smith Drive
  • 5.30-9am – Kingsford Smith Drive, Eagle Farm to Hamilton, between Fison Avenue West and Cooksley Street
  • 5.30-9am – Lytton Road, Balmoral, 30 metres before Thynne Rd intersection
  • 5.30-9am – Lytton Road, Cannon Hill, at Creek Road
  • 5.30-9am – Lavarack Avenue, Eagle Farm, at Harvey Street North
  • 5.30-9am – Racecourse Road, Hamilton, at Kingsford Smith Drive
  • 5.30-9.15am – Caxton Street, Brisbane, from Hale Street off-ramp southbound
  • 5.30-9.15am – Given Terrace, Paddington, between Castlemaine Street and Latrobe Terrace
  • 5.30-9.15am – Latrobe Terrace, Paddington, between Given Terrace and MacGregor Terrace
  • 5.30-9.15am – Old Hale Street, Brisbane, from Cricket Street to Caxton Street
  • 6-7.30am – Grey Street, South Brisbane, at Vulture Street
  • 6-7.30am – Jack Flynn Memorial Drive, Morningside, at Wynnum Road
  • 6-7.30am – Main Street, Woolloongabba, at Vulture Street
  • 6-7.30am – Merivale Street, South Brisbane, between Boundary Street and Vulture Street
  • 6-7.30am – Peel Street, South Brisbane, between Hope Street and Merivale Street
  • 6-7.45am – Vulture Street, South Brisbane, between Merivale Street and Stanley Street East
  • 6-7.30am – Wynnum Road, Morningside, 100 metres before Jack Flynn Memorial Drive
  • 6.15-7.45am – Bennetts Road and Waminda Street, Morningside, at Agnew St Roundabout
  • 6.45am-1pm – TJ Memorial Park Drive, Dutton Park, at Gladstone Road
  • 7.15-9.30am – Kate Street, Indooroopilly
  • 7.15-9.30am – Witton Road, Indooroopilly
  • 7.45-12.30pm – Orlando Road, Yeronga
  • 8-11am – Kenmore Road, Kenmore
  • 8am-12pm – Keeble Street, Corinda
  • 8am-12pm – Oxley Road, Chelmer
  • 8am-12pm – Spine Street, Sumner
  • 8am-12pm – Wacol Station Road, Wacol.

Queensland Police Service and traffic controllers will be in place to assist motorists, buses and pedestrians. Limited local access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
