United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Taiwan 

The United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Australia invited the Lord Mayor to lead a business delegation as guests of the Government.  From 26 January to 4 February 2007, eighteen delegates accompanied the Lord Mayor and two Council employees to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain to further develop business, trade and investment opportunities between the two cities.

The Taiwan Business Mission followed directly on from the UAE Business Mission (5 – 10 February 2007). This Business Mission included visits to Taipei and Kaohsiung (Brisbane’s Sister City).  Delegates participated in a program of briefings, industry tours and business development introductions tailored to their industry sector.
