The Love Food Hate Waste newsletter launched in November 2017. Since then, together we've been helping to keep Brisbane clean, green and sustainable. Community Composting Hubs have expanded to 19 locations across the city, and all registered program participants are real life Love Food Hate Waste heroes. We’ve also produced and shared over 42 blog posts, recipes and articles to help you live a low-waste lifestyle, all available on Council’s website (so you can always find them).

Check out some of our top stories from the last 12 months:

  1. The citrus scrap secret – transforming the humble citrus peel into a household cleaner is a game changer. Thanks to guest blogger Hanna Hervall for this article from The Green Light Collective.
  2. Fix your fridge fails – how to store your food to get the best out of your fridge and freezer, a great way to avoid unwanted food waste at home.
  3. Meal planning pack – failure to plan is a plan to fail. Find out how meal planning can save both your food waste and wallet by doing a food stocktake, writing a meal plan and shopping smart.

If you had a favourite that didn’t make it into this top five most popular list, email your favourite blog or recipe from the last year to the Love Food Hate Waste team.

Here are some blog articles that you may have missed throughout the year but that are full of information for our food waste warriors:
