Community nurseries
Most of the catchment group nurseries operate to provide their members with free locally native plants, as well as bringing in some extra revenue for the group. They may propagate and distribute up to 30,000 plants per year.
Oxley Creek, Bulimba Creek, Moggill Creek and Save Our Waterways Now (SOWN) all operate native plant nurseries in their catchments. It’s a fun way to find out more about your local plants and meet like-minded local residents. If you are interested in volunteering at or visiting your local community nursery, contact your local catchment group to find out more.
