Free recycling resources for businesses, schools and community groups

Brisbane City Council has created free, online waste recycling resources to help your school, business or community group recycle more, reduce waste and save money.

ASPIRE

The ASPIRE website connects Brisbane businesses, schools and community groups to trade or give away waste materials, rather than sending them to landfill. Find out more.

Free recycling for community groups

Your community group may be entitled to a free recycling collection service. Contact Council to discuss your community group’s eligibility.

Resilient Clubs

The Resilient Clubs Support Program is an initiative of Brisbane City Council. Clubs and community groups are invited to the program and supported through identifying and implementing practical options to improve waste management, which can help to reduce maintenance costs.

Signage

Install signs in your workplace, school or community facility to maximise recyclables that can be recovered.

Signs that are well-placed and clear give people the confidence to dispose of waste responsibly.

As these signs are for print only, no Word alternative is provided and the PDF is not tagged for accessibility. You can download and print these signs:

Recyclable items signage

Before you dispose of any recyclable items, check what it's made from. If it's made from paper, cardboard, firm plastic, metal (aluminium and steel) or glass, it's likely it can go in your commingled recycling bin.

Find a full and detailed list of what can and can't go into your recycling bin on our bin items page, or by referring to the Brisbane bin and recycling app.

Resource recovery items signage

The following items can be dropped off at any of Council's four resource recovery centres.

*Limits apply for each product. All quantities must comply with relevant waste disposal regulations. Refer to the resource recovery centres acceptable items for more information.

Additional recycling items signage

Hard to recycle items that are not suitable for the recycling bin, or the resource recovery centres can be taken to independent recyclers. Check the Brisbane bin and recycling app.
