Revive Your Style

Textile waste is a growing problem, with 6000kgs of unwanted clothing being sent to landfill every 10 minutes in Australia.

Council is committed to creating a clean and green Brisbane by reducing waste to landfill and has teamed up with thrifting queen and stylist, Hannah Klose from Never Ever Pay Retail, to challenge high school students to reduce their consumption of fast fashion.

Revive Your Style 14-day Wardrobe Challenge

Council is working with selected Brisbane high schools for the inaugural Revive Your Style 14‑day Wardrobe Challenge this school holidays (1-14 July 2019) to help break the fast fashion cycle.

Participating students, from selected schools, will go in the running to win one of six prize packages that include a $200 second-hand shopping spree and a one hour styling session with an eco-stylist at the 2019 Revive Second-hand Fashion Festival on Saturday 17 August.

The challenge encourages students to fall back in love with their wardrobes by restyling old, tired or forgotten items into new outfits.

Students will:

  1. Commit to not buying any new* clothes, accessories or shoes this school holidays.
  2. Revive their existing wardrobe into new ensembles each day for 14 days.
  3. Share their daily outfits on Instagram using #reviveyourwardrobe2019 and hashtag their school.

* But second-hand is okay!

Be inspired

You don’t have to be a participating student to get involved. Anyone can revive their wardrobe by following a few simple style tips. Be inspired with daily outfit prompts from our partner and stylist, Hannah Klose from Never Ever Pay Retail.

(Only students from participating schools are eligible to go in the draw to win one of the six prizes.)
