WasteSMART Brisbane Awards

Brisbane City Council developed the WasteSMART Brisbane Awards to recognise and celebrate the achievements of residents and groups who work together for a clean, green and sustainable city. Council has partnered with Brisbane Sustainability Agency to deliver the awards.

2023 WasteSMART Brisbane Awards

This year there were 9 award categories, including the All-Star Award, recognising long-term commitment to waste prevention and reduction, and 12 awards with a prize pool worth over $4000.

The finalists were judged by an expert panel, including representatives from Cleanaway, Containers for Change, and the University of Queensland, except for the People's Choice WasteSMART Award which was voted on by the public.

The 12 winners across 9 categories were announced at the Lord Mayor's Awards Ceremony in November 2023.
