Treasure Trove and second-hand shopping
Council operates two second-hand shops, which sell items donated by Brisbane residents via our resource recovery centres. Council’s Treasure Troves (formerly known as Brisbane tips shops) are conveniently open every weekend from 8am-4pm each day and are located at:
- 46 Colebard Street West, Acacia Ridge
- 27A Prosperity Place, Geebung.
Before buying new household furniture, homewares, collectables, books, hardware items or sporting equipment, visit your local Treasure Trove at Acacia Ridge or Geebung for quality second-hand items saved from ending up in landfill.

Do you have items at home you no longer need that are in good, usable condition? Donate them to our local Treasure Trove via our four resource recovery centres. There is no disposal fee for donated items, where you drop off items in a vehicle under 4.5 tonnes combined gross vehicle mass (CGVM). Donations are not accepted at our local Treasure Trove.
All items must be clean and in working condition. Resource recovery centre officers may refuse to accept items for donation that are not considered saleable.

Think - reuse, share, upcycle, recycle
You can reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill by encouraging more reuse, repair, upcycling, and sharing of knowledge and equipment.
