More Council pools to reopen

Brisbane City Council wishes to advise that a further 6 Council pools will reopen by Monday 13 July after State Government approval of an industry COVID Safe Plan.

10 Council pools have reopened since June 3, under Aquatic Industry COVID Safe Plan.

All 22 of Council’s pools closed on 23 March under a State Government coronavirus directive.

Each Council pool will be tested by external agencies prior to any reopening and tested monthly while open to the public.

The pool operators at each site have increased the sanitation and crowd management measures in response to the COVID Safe Plan. 

Patrons should contact their local pool for details any site-specific operating conditions. Contact details for each pool can be found on Council’s website.

The following pools remain closed for maintenance and upgrade works and will open in coming months.

Brisbane City Council is working closely with the Australian Government and Queensland Health and is following their expert health advice to help minimise the transmission of coronavirus.
